Case Study 7: Post-prandial Analysis SMBG is very limiting on showing us post prandial values. Patients often complain of having SMBG values that would indicate a far lower 1C than they see form the lab. When starting CGM therapy we can see that post prandial elevations are much higher than SMBG values are capturing. With this information we can work on adjusting glycemic index of diet, bolus timing strategies, insulins or medications used.
