    fulfill the continuing education requirements for registered dietitians and 
    dietetic technicians, registered in all 50 states. 
		Registered Dietitians are 
		required to complete 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years.  
	  
		
		
    	Social Workers:
    
    Hi-R-Ed Online University, #1091, is 
    approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the 
    Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB)

    Education (ACE) program. Hi-R-Ed Online University maintains responsibility 
    for the program. 
		Where noted, 
    Hi-R-Ed Online University's courses are approved for continuing education 
    credit for social workers by the State of Ohio Counselor and Social 
    Worker Board. 
		 Social workers are 
		required by their state of practice to complete between 20 - 40 hours of 
		continuing education credits every 2 years. Consult your state board for 
		specifics.  
		  
			
			Case Managers:
			Courses denoted as approved for case managers 
	are approved by the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC) 
		for continuing education credit hours as noted on the first page of each 
			course. Approval number on file 
      with both Hi-R-Ed Online University and the Commission for Case Manager 
      Certification as directed by CCMC. 
			Certified Case 
			Managers are required to complete 80 clock hours of approved 
			continuing education every 5 years.

      continuing education and training courses receive approval based on your 
      clinical specialty and state of licensure. 
      
      It is your responsibility to make sure that you meet all credentialing 
      requirements for the state and agency that issues your license(s). Certain 
		states may have special requirements that cannot be maintained through 
		courses given outside of a classroom 
		environment.
North Carolina: 
RNs and LPNs: For reistatement or 
relicensure, a plan for continued competence and completion of one of the 
following is required: 1) National certification or re-certification by a 
national credentialing body recognized by the Board. 2) 30 contact hours of 
continued education. 3) Completion of a Board approved refresher course. 4) 
Completion of a minimum of two semester hours of post-licensure academic 
education related to nursing practice. --OR--15 contact hours of continued 
education and one of the following: 1) Completion of a nursing project as 
principal investigator or co-investigator to include statement of problem, 
project objectives, methods, date of completion and summary of findings. 2) 
Authoring or co-authoring a nursing related article, paper, book or book 
chapter. 3) Developing and conducting a nursing continuing education 
presentation or presentations totaling a minimum of five contact hours, 
including program brochure or course syllabi, objectives, date and location of 
presentation, and approximate number of attendees. 4) 640 hours of active 
practice within previous 2 years. 
South Carolina: 
The license of every person licensed under 
the provisions of the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act to practice as a 
registered nurse (RN) or as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in the state must 
be renewed biennially by April 30. 
Demonstration of competency for renewal of an active RN or LPN license 
biennially requires documented evidence of at least one of the following 
requirements during the licensure period: 1) Completion of thirty contact hours 
from a continuing education provider recognized by the board 2) Maintenance of 
certification or re-certification by a national certifying body recognized by 
the board 3) Completion of an academic program of study in nursing or a related 
field recognized by the board; OR 4) Verification of competency and the number 
of hours practiced as evidenced by employer certification on a form approved by 
the Board 
Virginia: 
Effective August 1, 2013, 
continued competency regulations go into effect. These regulations will affect 
licensure renewals beginning August 1, 2015. For licensure renewal, RNs shall 
complete at least one of the following activities: Current specialty 
certification by a national certifying organization, as defined in 
18VAC90-20-10. Completion of a minimum of three credit hours of post-licensure 
academic education relevant to nursing practice, offered by a 
regionally-accredited college or university. A board-approved refresher course 
in nursing. Completion of nursing-related, evidence-based practice project or 
research study. Completion of publication as the author or co-author during a 
renewal cycle. Teaching a nursing-related course resulting in no less than three 
semester hours of college credit or specialty certification. Teaching 
nursing-related continuing education courses for up to 30 contact hours. 15 
contact hours of workshops, seminars, conferences or courses relevant to the 
practice of nursing and 640 hours of active practice as a nurse. 30 contact 
hours of workshops, seminars, conferences or courses relevant to the practice of 
nursing.
